New Scuba Divers

scubadiving1My friends and I working with Worldwide Dive and Sail have been given the opportunity to learn basic scuba diving with SUB AQUA Dive Center in Phuket. We were all excited about getting to understand more about diving and correct use of diving equipment. After which we began to train with basic scuba skills in the pool such as clearing the mask and air sharing ascent.

moray-eel01The second day we had appointments at the Chalong Pier for go to Racha Yai Island, which takes around one hour by boat. On arrival to we could see clear water and schools of fish. With a check of our diving equipment we entered the water. During our first and second dives, after the testing for basic scuba skills, we had time to dive around the bay of Racha Yai Island with our instructors Mark and Tho. Going to a depth of just 10m, we were able to see many corals and reef fish such as butterfly fish, angelfish, wrasse and parrotfish which are quite common, but also boxfish, squid and moray eels.

scubadiving2The third day we returned to Racha Yai Island but moved to different bay. Here we enjoyed seeing schools of barracuda, porcupine fish and baby lionfish around the Staghorn Reef, which has a rock ridged-boarder down to 17m. I’m very impressed with diving from the first time underwater until the last dive… I can’t wait to go again and see even more!

Thank you SUB AQUA Dive Center for the great experience during the open water course and thank you so much Worldwide Dive and Sail for your support and providing me with the opportunity for becoming a scuba diver.
