Magically a hammerhead came right up behind us!

The Fiji Siren liveaboard welcomed on board a new group of divers all ready for their new diving experience in Fiji!
We started our journey at Vatulaca Reef just on the horizon from Volivoli where we dived at Tequila Sunrise which had multitudes of yellow soft coral and a couple of reef sharks, schooling barracuda and of course the corals spread out over the reef. Lastly we dived at Neptune’s Rhapsody, again with soft corals all over the place. After Vatulaca Reef we moved to Vatu-I-Ra and the beautiful sites located around there. The currents were being very favourable this week. All were gentle making the diving very easy. Thankfully the corals enjoyed the gentle flow as well as they were all open in all their magnificence feeding on anything passing by in the current. This made the sites of Mellow Yellow and Instant Replay absolutely amazing with massive coral blooms. Add a few of the larger fish into the mix and you have a great dive.

A truly great diving cruise in Fiji!

From pilot whales to dolphins jumping, this week the Fiji Siren had it all roaming out on the oceans. We started the week with dives out to Vatulaca Reef. After the standard shake down dive we dropped into Dream Maker. The top region of the site is covered in golden yellow soft corals and the deep end can have some strong currents making it a nice home for reef sharks and barracuda. During the dive there was a few sharks swimming about and a small school of barracuda but a real highlight was towards the end up amongst the yellow coral when three spotted eagle rays circled before swimming off into the deep. As the day followed we managed more sighting of reef sharks and small schooling fish along with abundances of soft coral all over the place.

Diving in Fiji under the full moon

Bula All! The Fiji Siren welcomed on board a group of happy divers all very exicted to start their liveaboard dive trip in Fiji! The weather forecasts were looking impeccable so we shot off first thing to go and enjoy a dive out to Amazing Maze to get us started. This was a great start with the site covered in soft corals and many of the swim through having big sea fans over the entrances and the inner walls littered with coral. We decided to stay out in Vatulaca Reef for the evening and dive this area once more to enjoy the pleasingly light currents and abundance of colourful corals.

Experiencing Fijian diving at its finest!

Another beautiful day in our pacific paradise as we prepare for more adventures on the high seas surrounding the 333-islands which make-up Fiji. Shortly after boarding, the Fiji Siren was away towards our first dive site and a chance for many to experience their first taste of Fijian diving at its finest. A favorite shake-down location of recent has been Amazing Maze, a nice gentle shallow dive with a good array of critters from nudibranch and scorpion fish to octopus and schooling barracuda as well as ample gorgonian sea fans, anemone and a mixture of soft and hard coral plus of course a maze of tunnels and passages giving the site its name.
