We launched off straight away and aimed our course to the south of the Lomoviti Group and Wakaya Island Marine Protected Area. The first night was a bit of a get to know each other time with the long trek to Naigani Island where we would be anchoring the night ready to make the 2 hour move to Wakaya.

A sky full of starts and a sea full of life!

The Fiji Siren moved out to Vatu-I-Ra with a new group of divers aboard her decks, this time with another group of Americans being led by Ed & Joe from Ocean Enterprises. Being that most guests arrived that morning we decided we would not dive this evening and let everyone settle in to get some rest before jumping into the blue.

A beautiful week diving Fiji!

A beautiful week diving Fiji!

The Fiji Siren and her crew were ready for a 7 night cruise around the Lomoviti Group of Island with a well-seasoned Fijian dive team from Ultimate Dive Travel. As we had all divers on board and all briefings done, we took off immediately for the island of Gau for our first dives through the Nigali Passage. As everyone from the group had spent a couple of days at Volivoli Beach Resort we had all the weight checks done and all equipment tested making it ideal for us to start on the more adventurous dive of the Nigali Passage.

Diving Fiji in German!

Diving Fiji in German!

This week the Fiji Siren had on board a group from Tauchertraum all ready to dive in Fiji as soon as possible! So, we hauled up the anchor and made way toward Wakaya Island, our first destination for this cruise. Upon waking up everyone found us anchored in a nice bay outside the private Island residence of Wakaya. The sun was yet to come for us but we would have some great dives either way.

There were so many things going!

There were so many things going!

Once again, the Fiji Siren Liveaboard departed from Volivoli Resort with a whole new group of eager divers from Waterworld. Being so eager we made sure to have our first dive of the cruise that very day! Amazing Maze was to be the site of choice for everyone to get wet for the first time to get all equipment and weighting set out to where it was needed to be. As night descended down we found ourselves anchored just off the island of Nananu-I-Ra.

Gerald Rambert on Indo Siren info

Gerald Rambert in Indonesia

S/Y Indo Siren – Raja Ampat, 26h April – 6th May 2017

Gerald will accompany guests on board to be on hand to give advice on macro, wide angle, compact and SLR photography. Recognising that each person’s camera is a different make and model the first two days of the trip are spent assisting each guest with camera set up, fine tuning the setting s and finding the best compromise for achieving optimum results.

In between dives Gerald sits with guests to review photos and discuss techniques for improvements on an individual or group basis depending on the group and camera types involved.

Gerald will accompany each individual underwater to develop technique and also show how they approach a subject and would set the camera. This allows for development at an individual pace and for him to tailor learning to individual needs. He learned by doing and watching others and feels this is the best approach to running the workshop.

Alex Mustard is also offering an underwater photography workshop in the Galapagos Islands on board the Galapagos Master in July 2016. Visit Master Liveaboards website for further information.
