A sky full of starts and a sea full of life!

The Fiji Siren moved out to Vatu-I-Ra with a new group of divers aboard her decks, this time with another group of Americans being led by Ed & Joe from Ocean Enterprises. Being that most guests arrived that morning we decided we would not dive this evening and let everyone settle in to get some rest before jumping into the blue.

A beautiful week diving Fiji!

A beautiful week diving Fiji!

The Fiji Siren and her crew were ready for a 7 night cruise around the Lomoviti Group of Island with a well-seasoned Fijian dive team from Ultimate Dive Travel. As we had all divers on board and all briefings done, we took off immediately for the island of Gau for our first dives through the Nigali Passage. As everyone from the group had spent a couple of days at Volivoli Beach Resort we had all the weight checks done and all equipment tested making it ideal for us to start on the more adventurous dive of the Nigali Passage.

Diving Fiji in German!

Diving Fiji in German!

This week the Fiji Siren had on board a group from Tauchertraum all ready to dive in Fiji as soon as possible! So, we hauled up the anchor and made way toward Wakaya Island, our first destination for this cruise. Upon waking up everyone found us anchored in a nice bay outside the private Island residence of Wakaya. The sun was yet to come for us but we would have some great dives either way.

There were so many things going!

There were so many things going!

Once again, the Fiji Siren Liveaboard departed from Volivoli Resort with a whole new group of eager divers from Waterworld. Being so eager we made sure to have our first dive of the cruise that very day! Amazing Maze was to be the site of choice for everyone to get wet for the first time to get all equipment and weighting set out to where it was needed to be. As night descended down we found ourselves anchored just off the island of Nananu-I-Ra.

Amazing Shark dives in Fiji

Amazing Shark dives in Fiji

The Fiji Siren Liveaboard had this week a very good cross section of nationalities including German, French, Australian, Spanish, Swiss and the UK. We started the subsurface activities with a relaxed little shake-down dive at Amazing Maze. This site gave us an excellent opportunity to ensure everyone felt safe and comfortable in the dive set-up and have a real-life rehearsal for a full day of exciting diving in the Bligh Water tomorrow.

The Stephen Frink underwater photography workshop on the Fiji Siren.

The Fiji Siren welcomed on board the world renowned photographer Stephen Frink on-board with his elite photo guru guests, not to mention a lot of very big cameras with tentacle like strobes protruding every which way. With lots of chatting and laughing even before we boarded it was a good sign and this was going to be a fun filled adventure. After a leisurely crew introduction and boat familiarization along with some very valuable safety drills completed to keep our energetic team fine-tuned, as well as to ensure our guests that their safety is paramount in our minds it was time for a relaxed little shakedown dive at Amazing Maze. This is a great site close to Volivoli in the Bligh Water to help get everyone comfortable and the perfect opportunity to hone in their weights and buoyancy with plenty of brand new wetsuits and equipment on-board.

Beautiful dives, professionalism and ‘cruisey’, just what you need whilst on a diving holiday in Fiji!

Once again the Fiji Siren Liveaboard embarked with a fresh set of divers and moved onward to where we would be spending the night. For a change we had the divers head out on a check-out dive to Amazing Maze as the sunset has become later in the day and would not be engulfing divers in the darkness like the case would have been over the winter months.

There is nothing in Fiji that is below amazing!

The Fiji Siren Luxury Liveaboard and her crew is more than happy to welcome back Yves from France with his group of guess as well as others from Italy, Chile and the United States!
We have a very full boat of divers for these 10 days. The first journey out to Vatu-I-Ra was a very pleasant one. We had three dives the first day and the visibility was great and the fish life was out in force with the new moon turning over. Splashing into Mellow Yellow was a sight for sore eyes as we were meet by so much colour and thousands of anthias and fusiliers darting around, not to mention every surface being touched by the current having blooming corals feeding. The other dive site was Black Magic Mountain. Being a little more exposed to the current we just tucked in nicely behind the pinnacle and had a great view of all the corals out feeding and even being lucky enough to have a couple of grey reef sharks on entry. Directly after the third dive we pulled up anchor and started the long journey south to the island of Gau and the wonder that is Nigali Passage.
