From pilot whales to dolphins jumping, this week the Fiji Siren had it all roaming out on the oceans. We started the week with dives out to Vatulaca Reef. After the standard shake down dive we dropped into Dream Maker. The top region of the site is covered in golden yellow soft corals and the deep end can have some strong currents making it a nice home for reef sharks and barracuda. During the dive there was a few sharks swimming about and a small school of barracuda but a real highlight was towards the end up amongst the yellow coral when three spotted eagle rays circled before swimming off into the deep. As the day followed we managed more sighting of reef sharks and small schooling fish along with abundances of soft coral all over the place.

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!!!! Once again we find ourselves wondering where the time went and how did we end up here so fast. We have had some great times with all of our guests on board the Fiji Siren and ALL the crew wish everyone the best for their own year to come.
Another beautiful day in our pacific paradise as we prepare for more adventures on the high seas surrounding the 333-islands which make-up Fiji. Shortly after boarding, the Fiji Siren was away towards our first dive site and a chance for many to experience their first taste of Fijian diving at its finest. A favorite shake-down location of recent has been Amazing Maze, a nice gentle shallow dive with a good array of critters from nudibranch and scorpion fish to octopus and schooling barracuda as well as ample gorgonian sea fans, anemone and a mixture of soft and hard coral plus of course a maze of tunnels and passages giving the site its name.
Grey reef sharks gracefully negotiating their way amongst what must have literally been a smorgasbord for them
The Fiji Siren crew was very happy to welcome back ‘photo pro’ Mr Douglas Hoffman who was on-board conducting another underwater photography workshop throughout the cruise as well as a bunch of repeat guests! To start our subsurface proceedings it was a quick hop over to our neighboring island, Nananu-I-Ra, where we got straight into the swing of things with a nice easy shake-down dive at Amazing Maze among myriads of swim-through adorned with beautiful gorgonian sea fans and of course no dive in Fiji would ever be complete without thousands upon thousands of colourful anthias.
